You received it recently, and you're running various drivers. The AMD ones were updated for Gears 5 performance and some issues. For NVIDIA, you're using the newest WHQL drivers—check if you need to uninstall the display driver in safe mode, clean up, restart, and reinstall. The latest release likely includes optimizations for Gears 5.

I downloaded today via Game Pass. The drivers are current; this has never happened before. I applied the best settings from Nvidia Game Experience and also a custom setting in-game—no differences observed.

The setup doesn’t appear to include AMD components. Updating drivers isn’t necessary until you understand the real problem—games can have unexpected bugs. In Assassin's Creed Odyssey, enabling MSAA makes the graphics look blurry, like wearing a potato slice as glasses. Cleaning installs won’t solve this; you need to turn off MSAA in the Nvidia control panel or within the game itself. Once other issues are resolved, DDU will help later. Can you share your display resolution? Have you adjusted any settings beyond presets, checking for resolution or FPS restrictions in the Nvidia panel? I’ve faced similar problems before but can’t recall exactly what I did to fix them. Also, which API is being used? Modern titles often support DX11 or DX12, though DX12 tends to be less stable and perform worse than DX11.

Used 1080p without any adjustments. Disabled DSR and turned off VSync. Adjusted min/max FPS in-game settings. Made some tweaks but results stayed the same. In the NV panel I reset everything to defaults. No effect observed. Game doesn’t have an API switch visible. Changed resolution to 2k but nothing changed. Switched to 800x600 as well.

I was just showing an example... sorry, not great, Zando. My bad... Man, I wasn’t the same at 21. I’m getting to 42 soon, and my mind isn’t working as it used to. I keep mixing up threads. But thankfully not too much of that, LOL.

The game doesn’t have an API switcher visible. I adjusted the resolution to 2k with no changes, then tried 720p—it worked the same. Still confused...

slow down and review your post carefully make sure everything looks accurate if you notice any errors take action to correct them don't rely on age as a reason unless you truly have communication challenges that affect clarity there are reports of performance problems today some users say it runs smoothly while others experience lag on different hardware so checking updates and app settings might help

The UT Engine performs well as seen in Fortnite. It's typically pre-configured, though sometimes issues arise with your system or software. DDU has assisted many users, but driver updates may still be missing. For Gears5 and similar titles, they seem to be optimized, though a driver release from nVidia is likely coming soon. A 12% speed boost was noted, along with bug fixes. It's unclear if they're targeting Gears or need a different driver, like AMD did previously. Keep going—stay hopeful, and the game should run smoothly once drivers are updated.

The game was officially released on the 10th of September, though those subscribed to "game pass ultimate" got an early advantage. Thanks. I'll check the linked article. Right now my experience is quite poor.
