Hey everyone, I recently faced an issue with Apex Legends. It usually runs fine on my PC, but after the loading screen it crashes to around 5-8 frames per second, making it impossible to play. I stopped playing it and haven’t picked up Apex anymore. Now other games, like "The Cycle," are also slowing down to under 10 FPS. I’ve tried updating drivers, checking connections, and adjusting game settings, but nothing helps. The SSD is new, and I can usually play most games. Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Coble23

Are those readings when the system is idle? Or while playing? If it's idle, overheating in-game is possible. Consider using hwinfo; specs are less reliable now. Also, the MSI afterburner with overlays can help you monitor temperatures during gameplay.

I'll test it out. I think it's running a bit warm, but that shouldn't be the reason for the FPS drop.

When things get very hot—typically near 100°C under pressure—it will almost certainly lead to a drop in frames per second.

You believe it would only occur in two games set to the lowest levels, while other settings remain unchanged.

Reducing the settings can actually put more strain on the CPU since it has to send more frames to the GPU, shifting the workload from the GPU to the CPU. It might seem odd if it’s just those two games, but keep an eye on temperatures while playing. Consider running a CPU stress test such as Cinebench to understand the impact.

Cinebench recorded a high CPU temperature around 90 degrees Celsius (multi-core) at 3419 performance points. That seems quite low, actually... I also verified in the games and the actual temperature was lower during gameplay.

You're unsure about the results, but you're planning to check GPU drivers via DDU. It could be an update or a configuration issue.

Completed the installation of GPU drivers using DDU, but no updates occurred.
