My monitor has a resolution of 3440x1440 at 75Hz. I started playing Minecraft after two years and noticed lag when using medium settings. The render distance is 16 chunks, which shouldn’t significantly impact performance. Temperatures are normal, and both CPU and GPU stay below 70°C during heavy use.

My 1080Ti/8086K @5.2ghz runs similarly. Welcome to Minecraft, the least optimized version possible. Increasing RAM from 1GB to 4GB made a noticeable difference for me. https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/gam...t-3682526/

Minecraft behaves strangely, favoring single-threaded performance but not fully utilizing GPUs. I experience occasional slowdowns and stutters, despite adding more RAM or using a RAM disk. Nothing seems to resolve the issue.

I refer to lag as delays in communication, such as slow loading or delayed actions. This can happen from network issues like long wait times or when moving between objects in a game. Heavy frame drops occur when the game struggles to render graphics smoothly, causing pauses or stutters. Regarding your setup, are you playing in a single-player mode or joining a multiplayer server? Also, do you notice any problems with your Minecraft instance?

Ensure your drivers and Java are current.

Welcome to the Java Virtual Machine. It might be the least ideal choice for game development, but it’s still possible... optimization will be a challenge due to the many layers it operates on. It works across all platforms, which is great, but that also means it tends to be quite slow.

A new Minecraft version shouldn't require Java to function, but it varies by release and playstyle. Some updates can be demanding on your system. With modpacks like CrazyEggCraft you might notice performance drops, likely due to internet issues. As someone experienced with over a decade of Minecraft, I can advise that large farms, abundant ground items, and shader-heavy builds will cause lag. You're likely using the latest launcher—adjust settings in Launch Options, pick your profile, enable JVM changes, and set memory limits. Aim for -Xmx3G, -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC, -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode, and -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy. Minimum settings should be around 2000MB.
