Performance issues, frame rate decrease, brief pauses.
Frame rate fluctuations, minor freezes, intermittent delays. What are these issues? What leads to them and how can they be fixed?
Provide details about your computer’s specifications and describe any issues you're experiencing, along with the steps taken to resolve them. Outline each instance of frame rate decrease, minor stuttering occurrences, and sudden lag periods.
Here’s a summary of each problem:
Frame rate drops.
High CPU load.
CPU overheating, leading to reduced processing speed.
GPU overheating and subsequently lowering its performance.
Game instability.
Potential problems with Windows or graphics drivers.
Slow hard drive access while the operating system is running.
Insufficient pagefile space or excessive pagefile growth.
Limited RAM capacity.
Micro stuttering.
Typically observed when frame rates surpass the monitor’s refresh rate, particularly if Vsync, G-Sync, or FreeSync aren't active.
Lag spikes.
Generally caused by unreliable internet connections – either a weak link between your network and your Internet Service Provider, or a poor connection from the ISP to online game servers.
Provide your computer’s specifications and detail what is occurring, along with the steps you have taken to resolve these issues.
Outline each instance of frame rate reduction, momentary freezes, and sudden delays, providing a brief description of each.
Frame Rate Drops:
High CPU usage
CPU overheating and subsequently reducing its processing speed
GPU overheating and decreasing its performance
Game-related errors
Windows or Driver Problems:
Faulty Windows installation
Corrupted drivers
Storage Issues:
Slow hard drive performance while Windows is running
Excessive pagefile usage or insufficient space
Memory Constraints:
Insufficient RAM
Micro Stutters:
Often triggered when frame rates surpass the monitor’s refresh rate, especially without Vsync, G-Sync, or FreeSync enabled.
Lag Spikes:
Typically caused by slow internet connectivity or significant data loss due to a weak connection between your network and your Internet Service Provider, or between your ISP and the online server.
I’m having difficulty determining if this is referred to as an “fps drop,” but while I am soaring and engaging in combat maneuvers, my game frequently pauses for approximately ten seconds—a frustrating issue. If there’s a way to resolve this problem, I would appreciate hearing about it.
My laptop specifications are as follows:
CPU: Intel Core i3-7100u at 2.40 GHz
RAM: 4 GB DDR3
System Manufacturer: Acer
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 620 (1.9 GB of GPU memory)
Laptop Model: TravelMate P238-G2-M33FY
Could you please explain why you didn’t share this on your previous discussion?
Unfortunately, the laptop's specifications aren’t well-suited for current games. Older titles are fine, though. The integrated graphics card isn’t sufficiently powerful; a laptop featuring a dedicated graphics card like a 1050 or 1050Ti would be significantly improved. There’s also insufficient memory—8GB is generally recommended. The i3 7100u, with its two cores and two threads, is operating at the limits of its capacity. Four actual processor cores would provide a better experience. I’m unable to locate this exact model on Acer's website; could you provide a link? What type of hard drive/solid-state drive is installed? Given the limited 4GB of RAM, I suspect the hard drive might be frequently utilized for virtual memory, potentially contributing to extended delays. Please monitor the CPU temperature when gaming; it may be reducing its performance to prevent overheating, which could also cause pauses.
There might be an issue with the computer’s memory management system. I currently have 8.14 gigabytes allocated as virtual memory, and there are 10.9 gigabytes available for storage. Is 8.14 gigabytes excessive for virtual memory? What suggestions would you offer if this amount is considered too high?
I would favor a laptop featuring enhanced graphics capabilities, however, if I possessed yours and sought to boost its performance, I would install a solid-state drive and increase the memory. Nonetheless, the integrated graphics processor is notably weak and it utilizes a significant portion of your primary RAM for video memory.
