I recently conducted tests using Prime95 and Furmark, and the outcome was alarming: my power supply unit failed completely! Despite acquiring a replacement PSU, the issue persisted. I’m quite puzzled by this continuing problem.

Have you resolved it by utilizing a dependable and well-regarded power supply? If your previous unit was substandard and subsequently failed, and you then purchased a less expensive alternative… it's likely that the same issue remains.

I’ve obtained a new Antec HCG-620 High Current Gamer Gaming PSU, which should address the situation.

Currently, I’ve experimented with my memory, power supply, drivers, and graphics card to diagnose the issue.

Consider replacing your power supply unit if it's an unbranded one... however, this won’t resolve the problem of your choppy gameplay. If you haven't already, obtain and install MSI Afterburner, then utilize the on-screen display feature to cap your overall frame rate slightly higher than your monitor's refresh rate (mine is set at 62). Doing so should enable your graphics card to output frames consistently and smoothly.

I received a minor suggestion... However, are you utilizing a LOGITECH keyboard or mouse?

If so, these devices are frequently linked to unusual delays in gameplay (the game most commonly affected by this is F.E.A.R., although other titles could also experience similar problems).

You can likely resolve this by searching online for “Logitech gaming lag” or similar terms. Generally, you’ll need to temporarily deactivate the drivers for your Logitech equipment – this should still function without problems.

Of course, this may not fix the issue if your difficulties persist following a power supply upgrade… and I sincerely hope your components weren’t damaged by it.

Fortunately, all my other parts are functioning correctly; nothing was damaged. I checked the keyboard and mouse for any delay, but even with my Logitech G510 keyboard, there was no noticeable lag. I will experiment with MSI Afterburner and provide an update later.
