hello, i’m trying to simplify this situation. I haven’t found a solution yet for the problem. Recently, i added a second display (55" 1080p tv) for certain games that don’t show properly on the main monitor (3440x1440). now, when i first launch Fallout 4 and other games on the tv, the performance drops to very low frames—around 30 or less—and the frame rate stays at 50% or lower. i adjusted many settings and thought i’d fixed it, but the issue keeps coming up. it varies depending on which game or screen i use, and even games like Halo Infinite that just came in. if i disconnect one screen, the problem disappears, suggesting it depends on both displays being connected. so far, i’ve checked all in-game options, tried nvidia control panel and power settings, but nothing works. i’m not sure if windows 11 is the cause, nor am i sure about the registry changes on top of the taskbar. any tips or ideas would be appreciated. relevant specs: 3700x tuf x570 gaming plus zotac rtx 3070 twin edge oc trident z neo 2x8 3600 cl16 2x 1tb crucial p1 nvme(game drives) 1 is on a pci card 1x 500gb 970 evo plus (boot drive) 1tb hdd/2tb hdd(media storage) corsair rm750 aoc cu34g2x 3440x1440 vizio 55' 1080p windows 11 pro edit: i forgot to mention, i’m also noticing a strange random flicker at the top of the screen—either on either display or both, like a brief blackout in the upper third.

Have you explored using a borderless window setting or a windowed mode?

I've tested both options, but they don't resolve the problem.

Have you used the TV stand by itself? (My setup works fine, HDMI is stable, so I don’t need multiple monitors.)

Yes, the mismatch in refresh rates and resolutions might be causing the problem. It could affect performance when switching between screens.

It seems the differences in ratios don't really affect the outcome, but I haven't tried it myself. I recall working with 720 and 1080 monitors smoothly, though mixing both isn't straightforward. A KVM switch could be a good alternative.

I thought it wouldn't affect anything. I'm wondering if this is related to Windows 11, though I'm not sure. Either way, if I can't fix the problem, switching to KVM would be a good solution. Thanks.
