Hello all,
I've adjusted my Athlon X4-860k to 4.5 GHz with +.1200V. The maximum VCore I've observed on this CPU is 1.404v.
At first, I achieved around 7000 scores for several days using benchmark tools like PerformanceTest or CPU-Z.
Over time, my scores have dropped to about 6500 in PerformanceTest and even lower on CPU-Z.
I'm trying to understand why the CPU performance seems to decline as time goes on.
My motherboard is F2A55M-DS2, and I'm using a 500W Thermal Lake PSU.

You're looking for a reliable high-end power supply unit to support overclocking.

Make sure you have a reliable power supply. The Bronze-rated ThermalTake 500W PSU isn't suitable for overclocking or heavy use, as it might damage the CPU over time.

Do you usually maintain your CPU? Ccleaner, malewarebytes, adwcleaner, antivirus, defrag, wise care 365 are among the tools you use. However, if you plan to overclock, a top-tier PSU would be ideal. Adding more fans and better cooling would also help.

How would you go about cleaning the CPU? You're referring to re-applying thermal paste and similar tasks. You do this roughly every two years, though it was just a few months ago. And yes, I also keep Windows optimized from a software perspective. Some of the companies you mentioned are actually competitors—I work for a software optimization firm as well.

Then what I really understand about software is just reinstalling Windows again.
