I paired my ryzen 3 1200 with GTX 1660, 16GB ram 2400mhz. Most of the time my gpu only use 50-60% while cpu used 100% (50-54°) I wanted to wait for ryzen 4 gen till Dec'20 but this bottleneck is killing me ! Any recommendation ?

Do you own an X570 motherboard? If not, currently you won’t be able to install Zen 3 chips. A Ryzen 3 3100 or 3300 would easily suffice for the upgrade if you have the budget available now.

Boost your memory speed by overclocking it. Do you need 1x16GB or 2x8GB?

I run a B450M motherboard. The 3100/3300 models aren't available here, but what about the 3500 series?

The 3500X would perform even better.

Realistically, increasing to a minimum of six CPU cores will make a noticeable difference. Newer models offer substantial gains that shouldn’t be overlooked. The 3000 series provides the top performance boost but comes at a higher price. Pricing details are unclear in your region, making it tough to advise. Are you expecting the Zen 4 release this year? If so, expect longer wait times and consider whether a mid-range upgrade fits your needs. Edit: You referred to the 3500x chip. It’s a solid choice; though not as powerful as the SMT-enabled 3600, it delivers a meaningful improvement in gaming performance compared to your current setup. The core enhancements are on par with previous generations in many titles.

Consider purchasing a Ryzen 5 3600 minimum. That’s the rule. If you can find it under $50 less, go for the Ryzen 5 2600(X) too, though I’d lean toward the 3000 series. Aim for 30-50 dollars more, but it’ll pay off. Back in the day, buying an i5 for gaming between 2010 and 2018 was a mistake—people stuck with i5s and ended up regretting it. The same trend will happen here. Time goes by, new games arrive, and missing SMT will hurt you later, forcing you to upgrade sooner. What’s the cost gap between the 3500X and 3600? The 3600 is surprisingly affordable. Grab it, enjoy for years, and that’s enough. ^^

Here 3600 equals 210 plus 3500 times the tax amount, and 3500 multiplied by the tax equals 170.
