I realized I never addressed my own question—turns out, I messed up by using a combo cable instead of three separate 8-pin cables for my GPU. It didn’t provide enough power. Being able to avoid breaking anything for several months was a huge relief. Once I fixed it in late May, my performance matched what I expected. The main issue was missing an extra PSU cable.
