I play Starfield smoothly at 50-60 fps on 1440p using an RTX 3080TI and AMD RYZEN 5 5600X with six cores and cooling. I have 32 GB RAM and 12 GB video memory. Despite having the latest drivers, I’m struggling to reach at least 100 frames. I’ve used ultra settings without any DLS or AMD extensions. If you can guess, my main issue seems to be the processor.

Ultra options aren't very useful. In most games high settings feel nearly the same as ultra and just reduce your frame rate. Still, Starfield’s performance matches what reviewers reported. https://www.techspot.com/review/2731-sta...benchmark/ Current AMD cards offer a slight edge in this game. For context, I’m using an RX 6800 with the same CPU as you, and we both achieve similar results at 1440p, even though your card is faster in theory. Expect some optimization updates that could improve performance. At the moment, just wait. I’d say 50-60fps works well for this title, especially if you use a variable refresh rate monitor to smooth out any drops.

I completely agree with what @Middcore mentioned earlier. The 5600X is a solid CPU, especially when considering GPU and CPU activity in Starfield. It can help identify any minor performance issues, though there might not be a significant bottleneck at all.

These numbers are typical for FPS games when using Starfield. On my system, I’m seeing around 40 to 80 frames per second during the first few minutes of play.

Because a powerful computer isn't always the best for every game, some titles run better or worse depending on optimization. Have you adjusted the settings?

2133 MHz RAM DDR4, probably best to hold off on upgrading until the latest updates for Nvidia cards arrive.

Identifying slow points is common with all titles you encounter; Ryzen favors quick memory access.
