HDD might be contributing to the issue since it's an online game. With limited RAM and VRAM, a new sprite appearing forces you to load the HDD and move it into RAM. If RAM is full, the OS may discard less critical data to free space for this graphic. Still, ensure all four cores aren't overused. For drivers, I recommend using DDU to clear existing ones before reinstalling and checking if the problem resolves.

Consider a fresh Windows setup or go with DDU for a seamless upgrade. Both options have their benefits.

I usually update my operating system once a year, right after noticing slowdowns. But: 1.) Are you certain your CPU isn’t getting too hot? Running at full capacity on all four cores suggests a stock cooler might be the issue. 2.) I’d prefer using an SSD for storage and games—especially online games. It performs better since it only loads what it needs without extra strain.

Sure thing! Looks like your CPU isn't getting too hot despite high usage, and the GPU is only moderately active.

Your system's memory usage during gameplay is allocated across the GPU and CPU, with specific details available upon request.

It seems you suspect a virus or malware is present, likely because both cores are operating at full capacity beyond what your software needs. This limits the GPU's performance, causing it to function at just 30% efficiency due to the CPU's frame-building constraints.

You should figure out your next steps based on what you need.

If this were my computer and I'm a gamer: I'd test my HDD using CrystalMark to confirm it's running smoothly (free software). Then I'd run Malwarebytes (free) to check for any issues. If it finds anything, I'd look it up online using my CPU data while gaming—Fortnite included. Based on what I find, I'd decide whether to clean it up or do a full reset. Since I'm confident in my hardware and don't have temp problems, I'd go ahead and swap the HDD for an SSD, reinstall everything, and get back to gaming. Game on!

You ran Malwarebytes and encountered some problems, yet the program continues to use all four cores at full capacity while running at 63°C. This is confusing!

Your HDD activity in Task Manager when idle and while playing games shows how much space is being used.
