Hello Everyone,
From the title I observed that my laptop maintains a better and steadier frame rate when using battery power instead of the power brick. I have enough ventilation space, vents are visible, and I’m using the included charger. Could you please share your thoughts?

Details: Lenovo P15v Gen 3 AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6850H, Nvidia RTX A2000, 64 GB DDR5 4800 MT/S. Running a Game on a 1 TB WD PCIe 4 NVMe drive with Windows 10 Pro 22H2 (Build 19045.3570). Thanks again!

Review the power plan in Windows settings to confirm it’s configured for High Performance during battery use, and consider Balanced or Power Saver when connected to a power source.

Windows is configured to run exclusively on the top-tier performance plan. (Applied through GPO, affecting battery and wall power)

This idea lacks any support, but it’s possible the charging battery could be contributing to the overheating. The airflow could be affected by its placement inside the laptop. It seems you might not have options to adjust the GPU settings, and the battery might be playing a role in the issue.

I don't agree. There might be a stand with an underside vent, though it's unlikely.

Do you have an alternative charger? My girlfriend used to have a charger that stopped working, and her laptop would freeze up every time it was connected. After replacing it with her spare, everything worked fine! If you own another charger, give it a try.

The problem stemmed from Lenovo's Intelligent Cooling Boost. Turning it off in the BIOS resolved the issue.
