It doesn’t reveal the issue, requires significant work, and lacks elegance, but sometimes speeds things up compared to troubleshooting. It also offers a plus side: if it fails, you know it’s hardware-related. It’s one possible solution—especially on older 68k Macs when other options are limited. You might want to review logs and the task manager to spot background processes causing trouble. Wouldn’t expect a saved restore point from before this problem began, would you? You might want to start with something milder first since this involves shooting in the dark. A quick “refresh” could potentially help. It’s just a single button press and won’t change any of your files, making it much quicker than a full reinstall. There are other gentle options too, but I’m not sure if they’d be effective. This one is so straightforward that it’s safe to try. The rest are more involved and uncertain.
