I’m putting this together since I’ve tried everything possible to resolve the issue. Here’s what I have set up: a GTX1070 i7-7700k with 4.2 GHz, 16GB RAM, a 750W EVGA PSU, and an ASUS VG24 monitor at 1080p/144Hz. The problem is that my GPU usage drops suddenly to just 1%, which then reduces CPU and power consumption. This occurs across all games I play—Modern Warfare, Doom, RD2—and sometimes lasts up to five seconds. MSI Afterburner shows normal temperatures, and the GPU runs at 65°C as well. It happens every time I play, regardless of load. I haven’t changed my drivers yet. My brother who plays online doesn’t have this issue at all. I’ve tried reinstalling Windows, reformatting drives, updating to Windows 1909, installing the latest Nvidia hotfix for R*, updating BIOS, refreshing drivers, updating Realtek and chipset software, using Malwarebytes, Rogue Killer, capping FPS to 60, boosting refresh rate, setting RDR2 to high, adjusting CPU rebalance via R* launch options, reseating RAM and GPU, swapping the PSU with my father’s 1000W unit, and even changing RAM XMP profiles. I’ve also turned off Avast, uninstalled some software, and rolled back Nvidia drivers. The game still behaves poorly even after these steps. I really need someone to advise me.

Challenge your CPU with Aida64 and push your GPU with FurMark. Execute each test independently for roughly two hours. Monitor temperatures closely; modify voltages if needed. If both components operate at their standard speeds and the tests still fail, you’ve likely hit a deeper issue. You’ve done thorough troubleshooting—this probably requires an RMA resolution. GL, send back your findings.

Could the issue stem from poor driving habits or faulty hardware? Since you haven’t adjusted any voltages and everything is standard, a failure during testing might be a crash.
