Performance feels unpredictable and inconsistent.
Friend enjoys playing AcUnity and claims he gets smooth performance, around 20-30fps. I thought that was fine. Then I noticed his frame rates dropped to 5-10fps on similar hardware—just a GTX 750 with 1GB VRAM. I watched some YouTube clips and saw mid-range AMD cards like HD7770 still handle the game well even with limited RAM. Nvidia GPUs such as GTX 750/650 seem to struggle more. He assumed I was teasing, but when he shared his gameplay, it really impressed me. It’s frustrating seeing such low numbers. What’s going on with the developers? Did they make mistakes during development? Anyone else managed to play this smoothly on cards like HD7770?
I just bought this game and wow, it looks amazing. My system is an MSI 280, and it runs smoothly on mee-high at about 30fps. I usually go for lower settings for better performance and smoother play. So far, everything has worked well except for a few times when it froze for around 15 seconds before resuming.
I own an i3 2120. It’s definitely below the required specs, and the GPU (Gtx 750 1gb) is also not meeting the minimum. I’ve installed the newest driver updates and tried all patches for the game, adjusted the Nvidia control panel settings. Still, performance remains far from what I experienced on my friend’s machine.
And most mid-range GPUs perform similarly across various settings I've tried, like 640x400 resolutions. Around 5-10 frames per second. 1080p still delivers about 5-10 fps. I'm no longer pointing fingers at Ubisoft. My PC falls short of the minimum specs, so I'll shift the blame to those with more powerful systems. I just hope my tone isn't coming across as rude.
It seems you're facing limited storage space. The system struggles to meet the necessary requirements. A 1GB card will quickly run out, no matter the settings or resolution. Although the game appears low quality, it consumes around 3.5GB on my machine without anti-aliasing. The essential specs are: OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8/8.1 (64-bit needed), Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K @ 3.3 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz, RAM: 6 GB, Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon HD 7970 (2 GB VRAM), Storage: 50 GB free, Sound Card: DirectX 9 compatible with latest drivers. Additional notes: You'll need a Windows-compatible keyboard and mouse, optional controller. Even though it looks shaky, you don’t require a 680 or 2500k to play. If your friends can run it at 1GB VRAM, I’m not sure how to advise you. Perhaps the AMD 7000 series cards use more VRAM efficiently than the Nvidia 600 series. But in reality, your low frame rate is likely due to insufficient VRAM. Consider installing MSI Afterburner, setting it up for game viewing, and monitor VRAM usage.
I have the most recent driver installed and am running an i5 4590 processor.
The issue seems to stem from a stable frame rate at very low resolutions, indicating VRAM isn't the main limitation. It's likely that Nvidia didn't prioritize driver optimization for budget graphics cards in this title. Could you share the current graphical settings? Those minimum requirements don't meet our expectations. A GTX 750 can handle many AAA titles, including Crysis 3 at reduced quality. We aim for games that scale well and aren't restricted to outdated hardware like GeForce 680s or higher.
Side note: The game seems tuned for NVIDIA chips as well. I’ve seen it run smoothly on a GTX 660 in my friend’s setup. Maybe it’s having trouble with your other specs, like RAM availability?
