Performance drops when system is under stress
Over the past few months my i5 4690k has consistently slowed down to around 3.68Ghz when usage exceeds 70%. I've adjusted several BIOS settings and turned off power-saving options, but nothing seems to help. Someone mentioned disabling Intel Turbo Boost in BIOS, yet my CPU remains stuck at 3.5Ghz. It's not overheating—my processor stays near 60°C and is usually about 50°C during intense gaming. If anyone has suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
However, shouldn't it update to 3.9 in Task Manager instead of the 3.68 it's displaying? Also, I'm having trouble performing any overclocking on my motherboard since doing so would cause a boot loop. That's why I'm focusing on maximizing the stock turbo clock. Perhaps I'm not skilled enough with CPU overclocking overall, as my main experience is using MSI Afterburner for my GPU.
If every core experiences stress, they'll likely drop to around 3.7GHz. However, with a single core under load, it might reach approximately 3.9GHz.
