Hey there, just got a fresh 1440p 144hz monitor to swap in for my old 1080p 60hz setup. I was playing Battlefield 1 on Ultra with the resolution boosted to 150% and it would usually run between 70 and 110 frames per second during intense moments, but when things calm down it drops back to 110. It seems like this new screen is causing a noticeable CPU bottleneck now—my 1070 should have handled it fine before, yet it’s struggling more than expected. Why would the upgrade change that? Here are the specs: GTX 1070 Gigabyte G1 i5 6600k @ 3.6ghz, 16GB DDR4, 500GB storage, 750 Evo.

The GPU needs to handle more pixels now, and a higher resolution impacts frame rates, don't you think?

you're testing the performance of your CPUs, having a 970 and a 6600k at 1440p. you're feeling good since your i5 runs smoothly at 4.2, while the 970 is actually performing better by about 20%.

Was die CPU während des Spiels vollständig ausgelastet? Bei einem 6600k-Prozessor ist das unwahrscheinlich. Wahrscheinlicher ist, dass die geringere Bildrate durch höhere Pixelerfassung entsteht.

1440p at a 150% scaling factor closely matches 2160p, so adjust it to 100%.

I lowered it back to full brightness once I configured my fresh display.

CPU usage is at its highest, but it isn't really increasing the pixel count because 1080p at 150% equals 1620p in theory, resulting in fewer pixels.

Would you like me to overlock it then?

I understand my desire, but I realized I can't overclock with the h170 chipset. Was there any overlooked software or driver info? I was performing well before...
