My newly assembled PC began experiencing FPS stuttering after about five minutes of playing Overwatch 2. After resetting Windows, it still occurs occasionally. Team Fortress 2 and Minecraft are working normally, but Task Manager displays roughly 70% GPU usage during TF2 sessions. In MSI Afterburner and Task Manager, the GPU and CPU show dips at stutter moments, along with a drop in power consumption. I've tried numerous solutions, though results varied. I'm using Windows 10 Home version 22H2 (64-bit) with these specs: AOC 25" 25G3ZM/BK Monitor, ASRock B550M-HDV, Corsair Vengeance LPX, DDR4-3600, C18, 2 x 8 GB. System Power is 9 700W, CPU is AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (8 cores, 3.8 GHz), and the graphics card is Radeon RX 6700 XT (12GB GDDR6). I forgot to include my SSD in the list: WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD, 2 TB, BIOS version 3.00 on the AsRock site.

I've dealt with similar problems before, especially with Steam titles that demand more powerful hardware. Are you using O2 through Steam? Are there any other highly graphical games you could also try on the platform? The solution I used was a complete reinstall of Steam. There might be additional tips in that discussion that could assist you.

If the AMD.com B550 chipset driver isn't installed, I'd begin there—it plays a key role in AMD systems and can lead to odd problems like this. If that doesn't resolve it, we need to investigate further. I suggest testing with 720p low resolution to see if the issue persists. If it continues, it likely points to network or CPU latency, where your GPU is delaying frame updates for player positions. This usually isn't a CPU bottleneck unless you're hitting thermal limits with the 5800x. If your CPU temps and boost performance are normal, the problem might lie in software or firmware—such as Windows settings, UEFI, drivers, or applications like HWinfo64. In cases beyond simple chipset issues, checking applications that monitor hardware can provide more clues, especially if you notice specific patterns in performance drops.

Keep playing until the specified condition is met and capture a screenshot of the Performance tab in Task Manager with Memory enabled. You should still be inside the game but navigated through tabs.

I used the amd website chipset driver and 720p low settings, but the refresh rate stays at 240hz. The issue persists. I also have a powerline adapter for network use, yet it disconnects me occasionally when playing on PS5. I haven’t adjusted any system clocks beyond setting my RAM to 3600mhz in BIOS, which matches its advertised speed.

240Hz refresh, 1080p resolution, minimal settings. I didn’t install the drivers with the software. All updates are current on Windows 10 64-bit.

Sure, you might encounter some slow performance, as this configuration isn't typically suited for gaming.

I removed power adapter plugs from outlets and Ethernet cables. The same lag appeared in GTA V offline mode.
