Performance drops after the upgrade Mobo, CPU, and RAM improvements cause lower frame rates
I recently upgraded my PC. I had a GTX 1060 with 6Gb and a 500 watt power supply. The changes I made included swapping the stock Dell XPS 8700 motherboard for an MSI MGP Z390 gaming edge AC Intel Core I7-4770 to an I7-9700K along with a Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO, upgrading RAM from 8 GB DDR3 to 16GB DDR4 at 3200MHz. After these updates, I noticed my performance dropped in games. For instance, Red Dead Redemption 2 was previously running smoothly at high settings but now only about 50 FPS with lower settings. Ghost Recon breakpoint also performed poorly under the same conditions. I’ve searched online but haven’t found a solution to this issue.
did you adjust the RAM timings yourself? maybe unstable settings after checking HEPT specs could be the issue. it’s also possible you switched from a non-HEPT board to one that supports it and that caused problems—your CPU might be throttling due to heat or incorrect PCI lanes. double-check all components.

You've completed a full Windows reinstall, but your games continue to lag. The discrepancy likely comes from the fact that your OS was installed on a smaller SSD while your games were saved on a larger HDD.
