CoreTemp functions well for me, but appreciative of the heads-up on polling speeds. I increased mine from 1000ms to 500ms. I made several adjustments: updated BIOS (it was outdated), reset CMOS and configured basics (D.O.C.P., virtualization, WOL, energy-saving states), set Ryzen Master to stock PBO. *Bang!* The peak temperature logged by CoreTemp reached 75°C, matching the highest in Ryzen Master as well. I suspect the problem stemmed from my Ventroo V5 cooler, which had noisy fans at medium-to-high speeds initially. In BIOS QFan settings, I lowered fan speeds below 70°C to 20%. After restoring them to defaults, the 75°C max appeared while core voltage hit nearly 1.5V. The good news is the fan noise issue seems resolved, so I can stick with the default curve. My Cinebench score improved to 4836—a solid gain of a few points, though within acceptable error. My memory performance also boosted, likely because the CPU isn’t overheating anymore. DirectX 11 still lags, but the 3060 is running smoothly. Overall, I feel like I’ve won the silicon lottery with my CPU—though it’s hurting DX11 in Skyrim SE/VR. Most games now support DX12 or Vulkan, so the fix seems solid. If you have more tips to enhance single-threaded speed beyond PBO, I’m all ears! Otherwise, I’m confident the problem is resolved.

I wanted to follow up and appreciate the GamersNexus link along with the advice on offsetting. Both were really useful. I've been using stock PBO since my last post, but I chose to apply a -0.05v offset so my CPU would run cooler. I set it in my BIOS and ran Cinebench multiple times—results seem consistent, though the idle temperature is a few degrees lower!
