Hi, I'm facing an issue with dxtoy. When I start recording, the frame rate drops significantly—from 300 to just 7 fps. I've tried using an external USB drive with a 130MB/s write speed, but the problem persists. I also made sure my PC is clean and virus-free. I recorded it using my phone since no other recording software is installed now. The video quality is quite poor, but I'm sorry for that.

I don't have access to your specific settings or codec details. Could you provide more information or clarify what you're referring to?

I've been using the dxtory video codec at medium quality with compression enabled, and it's always worked smoothly—no issues since about two months ago.

Consider saving the recording to another storage device. If the issue persists, the problem might lie elsewhere. Switching to a different video codec could help. Ensure no demanding applications are running in the background. If these steps don’t resolve it, test with another recording application—OBS is a solid free option.

I've already attempted to save to an external hard drive, but my CPU isn't reaching 80% during recording. When using Fraps and recording at 30 fps, the game still shows 30 fps, even though I don't enable the frame rate lock option.

Consider exploring the Lagarith Lossless Codec for a different option.

No, I'm still seeing around 7 frames per second. I've tried different games, but they don't have as many frame drops. Minecraft is the only one that runs smoothly at 300 and beyond.

I refreshed my profile. I added Fraps, and it maintains a consistent 60 FPS, so I’ll rely on Fraps for certain titles while using DXTory for others. The 30 FPS setting in Fraps no longer appears, thank you all for your support.
