I'm wondering if there might be an issue or if this aligns with what's typical considering my hardware configuration.

In games where the GPU isn't the main constraint (such as those you typically play), it's understandable to notice a significant gap between the 7900X and 7800X3D. The X3D performs much better in gaming situations. In Cyberpunk 2077, the 7800X3D is 25% more efficient than the 7900X at 1080p (using lower resolution to reduce GPU strain).

In CS2, your friend achieves roughly 18% higher performance than you, which falls within what's considered normal. It's hard to say exactly what settings he employs or his actual FPS without seeing it, but your results seem quite accurate.

Found this; R9 7900 with 5080 on 2K Ultra in PUBG;
Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7xVKgIayWc
Averaging around 160 FPS.
How much were you getting? 240 FPS?
🤔
Definitely, R7 7900 and R7 7900X can't be 80 FPS. While the one in the video has double the RAM compared to you.
In any case, lower in-game graphics. Turn on DLSS and Frame Gen to improve your FPS. But for your situation, it won’t make a difference.
Your monitor is 240 Hz, so any FPS above that won’t be visible.
By the way, you have an SSD without DRAM, which isn’t ideal.

I changed my 5900x to the 7800X3D. On paper it seemed the 5900 was better for work, but now I’m retired and just play games. The 7800X3D has really improved my gaming experience, and I still get great performance with my older RTX 3080. I can run Dune Awakening on ultra settings without any frame drops or extra code issues, getting smooth results. The X3D chips with their big cache are a real game changer for gamers. For people who use their PCs for both work and gaming, the X3D chips aren’t as impressive.
