I completed the task. I reassembled, cleaned the PC, and purchased 9 Unifans from Lian Li.

It's high but still manageable. Gigabyte states the maximum is 110 on the hotspot.

Maybe I misread it earlier. Let me make sure I got it right.

You can view the fan settings. The temperatures aren’t unusually high, just a bit above the maximum. It seems unrelated to the issue—possibly due to the thermal pads you used.

Possibly. Did you spread the paste evenly on the GPU die? With direct die cooling, you need to do a spread. The dot or line method is not sufficient like with a CPU, because there is no IHS to spread out the heat. Also, what settings are you using in CS2? I have a hard time believing that the RTX 3080 is going to be hotter than maybe 60C average in CS2 using competitive settings, even at 1440p, but the fact that you're only getting 180fps says that you're GPU limited, which implies that you are not running competitive settings. You should be getting more like 400fps+ with the 13600KF, and the GPU should be at low utilization.

Certainly (It might also relate to the thermal pads. For instance, if your pads are too thick, they can block the connection between the GPU die and the heatsink)

That's clear. Let me know if you need anything else.

I'm updating the configuration and rerunning the benchmark. I also installed the new thermal pads.

A fresh repaste has caused the temperature to increase by 2°C within a month. Are those thermal pads matching the thickness of the previous ones? Also, regarding the fan setup, I really wanted to see the actual fans inside the case and their positioning. For now, could you tell me what type of case it is?

I'm unsure, but perhaps it does. It might depend on the paste. I changed to PTM7950. The idea is it handles wear well (about a month left). Edited September 19, 2025 by leclod
