Hello, I recently set up my new PC and began gaming. At first everything worked smoothly, but after two weeks of use the performance started to decline. The frame rates dropped significantly in games like Elden Ring and GTA V, sometimes falling to 0-1 frames per second, with occasional screen freezes. In the Task Manager, the GPU usage decreased from 60-80% to just 3-10%, suggesting the system was idling. The CPU usage also fell but by around 5%. I’ve updated drivers, software, and BIOS, unplugged and plugged in the GPU, checked connections, and even reinstalled Windows and all components. Despite this, stress tests passed, and benchmarks on sites like 3DMark and GTA still showed no throttling. The problem seems to appear only after installing a CPU cooler, though I added enough thermal paste and confirmed the thermal paste jobs were correct. I also lowered my CPU and GPU speeds back to normal, but the lag persisted. I overclocked just the CPU, which ran at 3.40 GHz with MSI BIOS. The cooling system worked fine, and the motherboard and RAM were properly installed. I’m still trying to figure this out.

It seems you placed a CPU contact frame incorrectly, which may have led to uneven pin contact and issues. Double-check the installation and ensure everything is properly seated.

Uncertain about pushing a 14700K further, especially with the latest BIOS updates.

Check the newest bios updates. From the video you shared, I managed to complete the run under maximum stress without any freezes. I disabled XMP and also turned off CPU OC.

This might prevent the CPU from overheating or stopping completely, but I’ll verify it for you.

I've already attempted that but the problem persists, I disabled XMP and ran the game without an overclock, yet some cores continue to display 5GHz.

Check if the problem persists across different situations. If it only occurs under specific conditions, it might point to a hardware or software issue.

The problem might stem from the voltage being too high, risking damage to the chip. This isn't directly tied to your current concern but is a general risk. Have you adjusted the power settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel to performance mode?

It operates at peak efficiency, but the problem persists.
