Performance declines unexpectedly without clear cause.
I've checked the system settings and everything seems to be configured correctly. The GPU is running smoothly at 80 FPS initially, but after a few minutes it drops significantly. I've adjusted the settings multiple times—lowered resolution, changed power plans, enabled high performance mode—but the issue persists. I've also updated drivers and reinstalled Windows, yet the frame rate remains unstable. It seems like the bottleneck might be elsewhere or the GPU is struggling under load. I'm considering checking for background processes or hardware stress tests to identify further issues.
gpu stays at 99 degrees regardless of the 100 limit, bios sets the temperature cap and the cpu runs around 70 degrees.
It was also before I reinstalled my windows consistently at 99, never letting it go higher. Everything seems to be functioning properly now. After reinstalling, there was a noticeable FPS drop. It might be related to the Windows update being almost complete—previously I had version 1909, and now I have an older release.
Yea but thats not problem for fps drop before reinstalling windows I was playing at 80 fps all time
Did you reinstall Windows using DDU to fully clear the previous drivers before adding the newest Nvidia updates? If not, I recommend giving that a shot. Which tool are you employing to track your temperatures? Reliable options like HWinfo64 or HWmonitor suggest you likely have overheating concerns if your GPU hits 90°C or higher. You can dismiss that data if it doesn’t affect your performance, but ignoring it might mean your graphics card is struggling under extreme heat.
Dude maybe your gpu fan died or something it isn't always windows update. Something is wrong with your GPU is it's going over 90C why don't you fix that instead of continuing to cry about windows update
I completely cleared out the old drivers and put in the newest ones, but the issue returned.
Checking via DDU or selecting the Nvidia installer’s “Clean Install” feature? Just ensuring no residual driver files are interfering with your setup.
