Hello, I recently assembled my first gaming PC with these specifications: Ryzen 7 5800X, MSI RTX 3080 gaming trio z, Asus B550E motherboard, RM850X PSU, two 16GB 3600MHz RAM sticks, Crucial MX500 2TB SSD, and CoolerMaster Master Liquid 240L v2 AIO. While my system is designed to handle 1440P games, I frequently experience sudden FPS drops—from 200 to just 15fps in MW2. This issue occurs across various titles, from highly detailed AAA games to simpler ones like Roblox. I attempted several fixes: overclocking the 5800X from 3.8GHz to 4.6GHz, changing power plan settings, reinstalling graphics drivers via DDU, using MSI Afterburner for overclocking, updating BIOS and chipset drivers. Despite these efforts, the problem persists. Temperatures remain low (around 60°C CPU, 55°C GPU), yet performance fluctuations continue. I noticed inconsistent benchmarking results; frame rates on RSS are high but drop sharply in-game. Increasing the max power limit in Afterburner from 100% to 102% had minimal impact. On Roblox, the game caps at 60fps, yet my 99% FPS often drops by 10–20 points regardless of load. The Nvidia overlay shows a sudden 99%→10–20 fps drop during drops. I’m unsure if benchmarking is accurate or if software glitches are interfering. Could you help identify potential causes and suggest solutions?

It seems like a GPU issue. I’d check if the product still has its warranty and contact the card’s maker to report any problems—you may be entitled to a replacement.

Sure, you can keep monitoring performance while checking memory temperatures with tools like HWMonitor. Just make sure it runs smoothly and doesn’t interfere with your system. If it feels off, it might be worth reaching out for support.

The system will revert to its default performance settings, potentially affecting speed and responsiveness.

It appears the feature is turned off by default. I'll enable it to check if the problem continues.

Overclocking won't resolve the problem. It's unnecessary since the processor is already up to date. A previous discussion suggested disabling certain settings, possibly related to RSS. It seems they were using an NVIDIA graphics card, and another thread might offer more guidance.
