I bought a 5600X but didn’t upgrade the RAM from the original kit. I managed to boost it to 3200 without issues on my Intel CPU, thinking it would suffice for now. I only enabled auto-overclocking in Ryzen Master and was satisfied with the jump from 4200 to 4400 at stock 2133 MHz. When I started tuning the RAM speed, performance dropped as I pushed higher frequencies and voltages. I’m worried about timing issues but haven’t found a better solution besides these older parts that seem poorly optimized. The 4400 in R20 is similar to what Linus achieved with a 3600-14-15-15-35 setup. Anyone can help clarify this?
Cinebench depends heavily on CPU speed. Most Ryzen boosts come from matching memory speeds and using linked I/O, with Infinity Fabric contributing about 90% of the gain. For optimal testing, AIDA64 cache and memory benchmarks reveal extra gains from overclocking. Read and write operations should improve while latency drops. This is the desired outcome. AMD memory controllers are quite selective. Upgrading to at least 3200MHz would help. A pair of 8GB modules works well, and 16GB should still support 3200MHz. 2x16GB would be ideal for gaming, 32GB for gaming, streaming, or work.
