Performance decline on Windows 11 after installing a new CPU.
Im going to switch my cpu, from a ryzen 7 2700x, to a ryzen 9 5900x, but im running winodws 11 and from what i've read and heard, i would loose something around 20% of my cpu's full ability, and i was wondering if this was fixed, or if this is a constant problem due to the new security requirements of windows 11. And as far as i know the only way to fix that would be to revert back to windows 10, and then back again to windows 11 if i wanted it, unless there's another way that i don't know about. Thanks in advance, and i hope you have a great day
The performance issue was resolved by updating the chipset driver.
I noticed a performance drop and several bugs in Windows 11 recently. Early on, I've maintained similar or even better performance compared to Windows 10 in games. Most issues appear resolved based on my experience. If things aren't working out, you can always restore your important files.
Windows 10 appears to launch quicker and runs more smoothly in games and benchmark tests. These improvements might still be emerging, but the review is relatively new. It seems odd that Windows 11 boots more slowly since it likely employs hibernation, which should speed up startup. The drawback of Windows 11’s default hibernation is a higher chance of driver issues. A major concern with Windows 11 is its memory consumption; using lightweight distros like Alpine Linux paired with lightweight desktops (Openbox, PeKWM, AwesomeWM, i3) can reduce RAM needs significantly. However, most users typically see around 4500MB of RAM usage on Windows 11.
