For budget builds, G3258 works well for most titles. If you opt for an i5+h97, expect better performance above 6300/8350 mainly due to enhanced specs... AMD GPUs differ significantly. Generally I suggest AMD graphics if the MSRP is under GTX 970. Most often I recommend AMD if it meets GTX 970 pricing for good value.
