Hello, I'm on Windows 10 version 1607. The system has already downloaded build 1709, but I don't want to install it. I prefer not to restart accidentally, so is there a way to bypass this update by deleting something? My main concern is that the previous version caused my PC to slow down significantly, and I'd appreciate any advice on how to proceed without affecting it. Thanks for your help!

No, it's not possible to avoid updates on a non enterprise Windows 10 system. Apologies for the confusion.

Thanks for the guess, just need to stay cautious and avoid hitting shutdown and updates.

Review your preferences... most Windows 10 versions include an option for "not in use times" that automatically restarts the system.
