Perform a fresh setup of Windows 8 on clean partitions
I'm trying a fresh setup of Windows 8 on my laptop with a Chinese version. When I remove all partitions and start over, only two partitions appear—system and main. This is different from what happened when I installed with an English version, which created four partitions (system, recovery, MSR reserved, main). Is this incomplete for the Chinese ISO? Or is there something wrong? I’d really like to have the recovery partition so I don’t have to search for a recovery DVD again during resets or refreshes. Also, I noticed that with the Chinese version, the boot logo shows Windows square flags, while the English version displays an HP logo instead. What’s going on with these differences?
It looks like you're questioning the design effort behind the boot logo. Let me know if you'd like to discuss it further!
I have no knowledge of that. I only catch my boot logo for a brief moment, so it probably won’t stand out much
I mocked my location and refreshed the ISO from Microsoft using my product key. It seems they were different builds—my Chinese version came from my school, while the English one was downloaded straight from Microsoft as a retail release.
