I’d wait for the benchmarks, but AMD’s demo suggested a slight boost with the 6800XT since it would run on an AMD CPU.
Thanks to these new capabilities, the AMD GPUs and CPUs are really impressive. I’m considering purchasing a 6800XT. I’d love to test it out on a 1440p screen at 144Hz. It would definitely feel amazing!
I believe the upcoming cards won’t provide enough room for 1440 144Hz. This is clear from my experience with the 2080, and upgrading doesn’t seem worthwhile for the next few years.
Based on AMD's comments, I believe going all-in on red is a solid choice now. Just keep an eye on the benchmarks. Unless you're targeting the 3090 or 6900, it's worth noting that they're about $500 less for similar performance.
if you got a 2080 you should not upgrade it, the 2080 is amazing already. but i am rocking a rx 580 4gb so a rx 6800xt is gon be huge for me haha
