Haha, not usually. I'm using Firefox with lots of extensions and GM scripts, watching a YouTube video, Chrome, Outlook running custom scripts, plus other services I developed. When idle, I hover between 4-7%. My power setting is set to low to keep the CPU below 5 GHz.
My view on Windows comes from a practical standpoint—using it because I don’t feel the need to go through extra steps for it to function properly.
MS deserves recognition for the strength of their spreadsheet capabilities. Even complex data sets often fall short, but this tool can handle tasks beyond what others expect. If I could recommend it to office users, it would be a Chrome book with whitelisted software and a desktop background featuring cat images.

Finding/Enabling Hidden Settings Manually open the registry editor and go to [ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00 ]. Go to each subkey and read its description. If you want it to appear in your "Power Options", set it's " Attributes " property to 0 . If the property is missing, add it by creating a dword with a value of 0. There are duplicate options with "Class 1" added to the end. These options take hold when your CPU is in a lower power state. These are generally used on servers, but can be useful when trying to save power on mobile devices. There are even more options than I described here, but you get the point. Play with the settings and let me know if you have any interesting results.
