I recently observed my PC emitting a very faint single chirp approximately every five minutes.
I shared this with Mr. Google for assistance, hoping they could help despite my thorough checks.
No errors or crashes have been reported, and the Device Manager shows no yellow triangles.
The most recent hardware I installed was an external SSD around six months ago.
After turning off fast boot, the system displayed 40 instead of AA.
I ran a Windows memory diagnostic and changed the CMOS battery about a year ago.
I suspect the power supply unit can be ruled out because the chirp remains consistent whether I’m browsing or playing heavy games.
It’s only barely audible… but it’s there, and the only clue is that my PC is unusually quiet—if it weren’t for a few lights, I wouldn’t have noticed it was on.
I’m uncertain about the next steps. The machine is eight years old, and here are its specifications. I might not respond today as I’m based in England while many of you are in different time zones.

The power supply is a CORSAIR 650W CS SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET model.
Is this the product you're using?
You can view its details here: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/psu/cp-9...-techspecs
If applicable, this model includes a 3-year warranty. It's recommended to avoid green-labeled Corsair products, as they may not be covered.
Since you've been using the system for 8 years, it likely falls outside the warranty coverage.
Consider testing by holding an A4 sheet of paper against your ear and listening through the other end to locate the sound source.
Is this noise originating from inside your system or is it white noise from your speakers or audio device?
The discussion has been moved from the Windows 10 section to the Systems section.

i done the tube test , the psu is 8 years old , no coil wine , the noise is in the system and i know that because i turned sound volume off , i have never update bios because i dont know how to.
I pressed del key at restart and found bios and uefi page but unless i looked in wrong place i could not find any error reports.

Check Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer for error codes or related events near the chirp time. The timeline view can help spot trends or system actions linked to the chirps. Event Viewer may take longer but offers detailed insights. Per @Lutfij, finding the chirp source is essential. Does your setup include a built-in speaker?

the psu is 8 years old, no coil wine, the noise comes from the system.
I wouldn't install that psu in your build, even with coil whine. Running a psu past its warranty is essentially taking borrowed time.
I've completed the tube test.
Focus your attention on other components, such as the vrm areas for the GPU and motherboard.

Hello @ Ralston18, thanks for the reply. I’ve done everything you and @Lutfij suggested, but it’s still happening. In between, my wife has been rushed to the hospital—real priorities now. If I don’t respond anymore, I don’t think I’ll bother trying.
