It makes sense, just get a mid-range or gaming PC with a solid GPU. That should work well.

You can look for pages that mention it, though I’m unsure if this violates any forum guidelines

Getting the BIOS without installing it yourself is similar to downloading ROMs. That’s why emulators needing a BIOS aren’t included. EDIT: Also note that unless the game is well-known, support will likely be limited.

PCSX2 works well for most titles, but some games perform poorly. For example, Ratchet & Clank tends to lag significantly on the platform. Gamecube titles run smoothly thanks to Dolphin, which is one of the best emulators I've ever used. Even with a Wii and multiple games, I still favor playing Wii ROMs at 1080p via Dolphin over running them natively on the console.

I haven't played many Wii games myself. As a kid, I switched from GameCube to Xbox 360. What kinds of games do you enjoy?

New Super Mario Bros stands out as my top Wii title. Sonic Colors also impresses. The two Super Mario Galaxy entries are worth mentioning, though you'll need a Dolphin Bar and a genuine Wiimote for them. New Super Mario Bros includes motion controls, but they can be mimicked using button inputs on devices like a 360 controller.

I’ll be honest about PCSX2, Dolphin, cemu, and RPCS3. Expect a lot of adjustments for each game, particularly with PCSX2—seems like development has stalled compared to what I’ve seen online. The latest non-beta release is almost a year old now. Dolphin handles the issue better; you don’t need constant switching between Software and Hardware modes, and many titles work smoothly now. Be ready to research fixes when problems pop up with new games.

For cemu, progress is fast but it demands significant storage space for games, DLCs, and updates. Plus, there are still many bugs, especially in sound emulation.

RPCS3? It’s not worth the effort unless you’re ready to wait. With all the exclusives remastered or cross-released, a PS4 is a much better choice. Unless you’re targeting an HTPC, I’d advise against it.

P.S. If you want Wii emulation, grab official Wiimotes and accessories right away—shops are rushing them off because the Switch doesn’t support them.
