If you upgrade, reinstalling Windows afterward should work. You can simply press "Upgrade" during installation and choose whether to keep your current files or start fresh.

I really hope so, I need the money either way—the PC is technically free. I did this with a cheaper machine last week, had a failed HDD, replaced it, reinstalled Windows, and sold it for $60, making a $45 profit, which isn’t too bad for hours of work.
