PCs from 2016 aren't updating: :(
I've reviewed all the FAQs and attempted various solutions. If your PC starts up but no display appears—whether with or without the graphics card—I’ve checked motherboard HDMI connections, tried both with and without the GPU, updated CMOS, installed new RAM, used a Windows recovery USB, and even reseated the CPU. The thermal paste is old, and I haven’t managed to access the BIOS despite the keyboard lights working. I've tested multiple monitors, TVs, and different HDMI cables, including discovering a faulty cable. The system runs at 4690kHz, 1070 MHz, with 32GB RAM on an ASRock Z97M Pro4 motherboard. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Your situation sounds frustrating, and I understand your concerns about cost versus replacement.
The PSU is from 2014. Please specify the brand and model. Disconnect the GPU and run a test using the monitor connected to the motherboard.
I purchased a thermaltake PSU but haven’t used it much since others warned about its reliability. I’m giving it a try.
You've changed the PSU and the outcome remains unchanged, suggesting the issue might be with the motherboard or CPU.
You might want to consider a different processor. 4th generation Intel parts are reasonably affordable second-hand now. Usually, a failing motherboard or CPU leads to a POST message or briefly turning on the fans before shutting down.
