Intel released a chip with 16 special cores for specific jobs and another with 16 variable-thread AMD cores that work well for both low and high power tasks. I believe Intel underestimated what buyers would need, while Microsoft continues to dominate this market.

The updated layout offers significant benefits for laptop users, reportedly using less energy during light operations compared to older models. However, for desktop applications I still prefer the classic setup since managing power consumption and cooling remains more manageable. My belief is that Intel acknowledged its challenge in keeping up with AMD and therefore introduced mixed designs to balance thermal performance and efficiency. Even after transitioning to 10nm, these processors continue to consume considerable power and generate heat.

I don't think intel went hybrid because they want . But because its the only way they could be competitive by any mean . Basically 4 E cores takes the space of a single p core. And as intel already pushed its die limit size . They would have to offer outrageous prices to have 16 p cores with a single chip. As manufacturing cost is way higher than the Chiplet design of amd. So basically without hybrid design top intel cpu will be 10 core again and it would get smashed. So the e cores is a great idea having 8 cores in the place of 2 p cores. However I personally would rather wait for next gen ryzen. But again that's the best intel could do to be competitive performance/price

People are likely to react strongly when AMD 4d is discussed, especially since each core can switch between large and small performance levels. Many will criticize Intel and Microsoft for focusing on outdated chip designs.
