Yes, one has a SATA power connector and the other one hasn't. On a serious note: Amount of Power it can deliver. Without an external power connector its fine for USB HDD's and such and it will slow charge you phone. (up to 7,5W per port) The ones with a SATA (or even molex) power connection will allow up 100W (3.1)

Thanks, no big power needed—maybe pick the ones without a cord cleaner too.
