I arrived home on Monday and my PC isn’t turning on Windows. I can view the BIOS but it won’t load Windows. I moved it to a different slot and it works, even with integrated graphics. For some reason, Windows can’t find it when it’s in the main slot. Why does the graphics card prevent Windows from loading?
It's a new experience! Have you attempted to clean the top slot? Perhaps using air or a brush could remove some debris. Are there any indications of loose solder connections? The motherboard appears to be quite old. Clearing the CMOS might help too—try jumping the pins or removing the battery for 30-60 seconds before reinserting it.
It's an X570S with a maximum Wi-Fi speed of 802.11ac and it's just two years old. I considered power options, but everything seems to be working properly. The card is installed in the secondary slot. The first port supports 4.0 Gbps, while the second offers 4.0 Gbps with a lower data rate.
Not having the GPU operate at its maximum capacity isn’t optimal. It feels unusual, but it’s possible the motherboard or GPU itself might be the issue. Would you like to test it on a different setup?
