You're experiencing issues with your new adapter not being recognized by your PC. Since it lights up, it's likely functional but not properly connected or compatible. Here are some steps you can try:

1. **Check the connection** – Ensure the adapter is securely plugged into both the SSD and the motherboard.
2. **Try a different port** – If possible, swap the SATA ports on your motherboard to see if that resolves the issue.
3. **Update drivers** – Use the manufacturer's website to download and install the latest drivers for your adapter.
4. **Test with another SSD** – Plug in a different NVMe M.2 SSD to rule out compatibility problems.
5. **Reset BIOS/UEFI** – Sometimes a simple reset can fix recognition issues.
6. **Check for firmware updates** – Ensure your motherboard and SSD firmware are up to date.

If none of these work, consider reaching out to AXAGON or MSI support for further assistance. Let me know what you try!

It seems the second-generation M.2 slot won't work with your current setup because of how the motherboard is designed.
