Hey guys , please help me to understand , by the website of AMD it says that b850 doesn't support pcie5 x16 for gpu but if im looking on the website of gigabyte for a certain b850 mobo i see that : https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B85...v-1x/sp#sp 1 x PCI Express x16 slot (PCIEX16), integrated in the CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 9000/7000 Series Processors support PCIe 5.0 x16 mode AMD Ryzen™ 8000 Series-Phoenix 1 Processors support PCIe 4.0 x8 mode AMD Ryzen™ 8000 Series-Phoenix 2 Processors support PCIe 4.0 x4 mode * The PCIEX16 slot can only support a graphics card or an NVMe SSD. If only one graphics card is to be installed, be sure to install it in the PCIEX16 slot. Chipset: - 2 x PCI Express x16 slots, supporting PCIe 3.0 and running at x1(PCIEX1_1, PCIEX1_2) am i mistaken ? thanks

PCIe 4.0 appears to be a baseline rather than a strict requirement. Because the CPU's PCIe x16 lanes are unrelated to the chipset, manufacturers can freely choose validation and performance levels. AMD only mandates PCIe 4.0 for the B850 model; otherwise, opting for B650 would make more sense.

The B850 support chart mentions Gen 5 graphics slots as available, meaning some boards may meet this requirement even if it isn't confirmed. A compatible board appears to fit the description. Spoiler alert!

The GPU needs to work in any PCIe Gen 3 slot, though it may experience reduced speed because of restricted data transfer rates.

This model works with 7000 or 9000 series chips. 8000 series APUs are restricted to Gen 4.

The documentation indicates a single PCIe x16 port linked directly to the CPU. It supports PCIe 5.0 x16 for Ryzen 9 9900X and Ryzen 7 5800X series processors. Restrictions apply only with Ryzen 8xx chipsets. Verify other boards with the B850 chipset for compatibility. Essentially, this model meets the requirement; others may vary.

Did you check the previous message, or are you here just for some fun? The B850 supports at least PCIe 4.0 x16 for graphics, though many boards—like the one mentioned—likely have 5.0. The user didn’t mention an APU, so it’s likely a standard Ryzen 7000/9000 processor.
