PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD operates at x4 instead of x8 performance
Hello, I received a WD SN200 series PCIE 3 SSD. It should run at x8 but it's only working at x4. It's connected to an PCIe 4 x16 slot. I suspect I might have lost PCIe lanes. My system includes: AMD Ryzen 5600X CPU, TUF GAMING X570-PLUS motherboard, 2x 16GB Corsair LTX 3600 RAM at 2GHz, an EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 Super FTW3 Ultra+ SSD, a WD SN750 M.2 NVMe, a WD SN850 M.2 NVMe, and a Samsung SATA SSD.
It's a native PCIE SSD drive. Check the product page for details.
According to the documentation, it supports PCIe 3.0 x4 but is officially rated for x8. That's unusual.
Yeah, and it is. But for some reason on my system it is running at PCIe 3 x4
It might be helpful to set x8x8 in the BIOS, even though it should handle it automatically.
