PCIE 2.5 GBS Intel i-225 NIC not found in Windows 10
Hi everyone, I recently purchased a 2.5 GB PCIe NIC for my desktop to connect directly to my NAS without a switch, using Windows 10. But the device isn’t showing up in Device Manager at all, and even Intel’s driver tools can’t locate it. I’m stuck because I can’t install drivers—my PC doesn’t recognize the card. I’ve used other NICs in the same slots before, and they worked in Linux, which suggests the issue might be with my OS or a specific slot. I also have a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card that works fine, so it’s likely the problem is with the new NIC itself. On my Windows PC, the Ethernet works perfectly, but the Wi-Fi isn’t. I’ve tried different PCIe slots, powered it off and on, ran a fresh Windows 10 install, and even tested the Bluetooth separately. Still nothing. My NAS uses the same Intel NIC as my desktop, which is also not detected. I’m really confused and need some guidance.
Consider resetting the BIOS to its factory defaults to check for detection during startup. Also, look into Gigabyte’s latest BIOS updates that might resolve the problem.
You’ve got at least one network interface up. For a 2.5GbE NIC, it’s still wise to steer clear of the Intel I225-V.
It seems the i225 is perfectly fine as long as you install the B3 update. Earlier versions had a technical issue, but my setup uses only i225 components and has worked without problems.
