I don't know if this is Bios related but most of the time when i turn system OFF, turn in back on in the morning my Link Width is at 1X, game run really crappy. It started doing that after getting AM5 system, my AM4 never did that. If i reboot, then the Link Width is 16x and all is ok https://imgur.com/a/mUW9Ceo

Which motherboard are you using? Which BIOS version is installed? Have you made any changes to the hardware? Did you reinstall the card? Restart the CMOS settings.

I completed everything I could—even reinstalled Windows from a Reddit thread someone shared. I had to restart the system for optimal gaming performance, just to notice how many users face the same issue. Everyone uses the AM5 platform, all have 4XXX series cards, and they come from various manufacturers. A full reboot is necessary to bring Link Speed back to 16x. The card worked fine on an AM4 setup as well.

I've been using Zen4 for over six months with an RTX 4000, and this problem doesn't seem to be a common AM5 issue—it might just be a motherboard-related concern. If it occurs across several BIOS versions and the GPU was verified on another machine, consider filing a return merchandise authorization. This has been my first encounter with it in the past year and a half, so I'm not making assumptions.

I recall purchasing the unit in July 2023. After updating the BIOS in November 2023, the changes began to take effect. I’m unsure if testing with a previous BIOS version is possible.

I updated to AGESA 1.0.0.7c and everything is now functioning perfectly. Using any BIOS beyond that causes it to start at 1x from cold boot, requiring a reboot to reach 16x. When it first boots at 1x, the GPU power draw is very low—around 200-250W—and according to MSI afterburner it's actually 100%. Once it hits 16x, the power jumps to 350-400W. This behavior strongly points to a BIOS issue.
