Hey there, I noticed you're dealing with a BIOS update on your B450 Aorus M motherboard after installing the Ryzen 5 5600. It seems the PCIe X16 slot isn't working anymore, but it functions when you switch back to the Ryzen 5 2600 PCIe X16. This might point to a BIOS-related issue. Let me know if you need more help!

Ensure the pin is present on the 5600.

No bent pins as well; the CPU worked fine on my friend's PC, so it’s likely a motherboard problem.

It might indicate a CPU issue... unless a pin is present, then it could be a faulty PCIe connection.

It seems there might be an issue. I’d expect the same if everything functions properly in his system. Restarting the BIOS during installation could help. Also, look for a BIOS update.

No known BIOS settings restrict PCIe lanes beyond link speed. Besides the graphics card, there are other PCIe devices available.

I reinitialized the BIOS (CMOS reset), updated it a few days back just to see if that would help, but it didn’t. It’s strange that the PCIe slot still works with the old CPU.

I own a m.2 SSD, but I attempted to start BIOS without using it, and it didn’t work.
