I managed to get PCI-E passthrough working, but there’s an issue. I’m using an RX460 and on low settings in Overwatch at 1080p it sometimes drops to the 30s when a lot is happening on screen. The VM has 6 cores and 12 threads assigned to it, so I don’t think that’s the cause. The GPU is connected via one of those PCI-E X1 to X16 adapters, but I’m not sure if that affects things.

It seems you're wondering about the adaptor's role and its relevance to Ethereum mining. These components are indeed common in that context, though they're typically used for data transfer rather than large-scale processing. Let me know if you'd like further clarification!

They're extracting adapters, making it impossible to fix without a new motherboard featuring two 16-bit ports?

It seems like you're emphasizing the necessity of using the complete capacity.

I thought it would function properly since I used this adapter and card before, but it worked natively on Windows. That’s a bit surprising. I was worried about compatibility, especially with the rare dual Xeon boards and multiple X16 slots, which are expensive. How can I confirm if it’s slowing down my connection?

It seems a variety of challenging tests can reveal distinctions, including discussions on the actual bandwidth https://forums.evga.com/PCIE-bandwidth-t...72266.aspx

It's similar to inserting a USB 3.0 device into a USB 2.0 port, resulting in reduced performance.
