Someone can explain why your system slows down noticeably after a short gaming session. It was stable before, but now it lags after 5 to 10 minutes of online multiplayer play. No changes or upgrades have been made recently. Your hardware specs are: CPU 55c, GPU 70c, motherboard MSI 970, AMD FX6100, downgraded from Windows 10 to 7, RAM 8GB OC to 1866MHz, 2x4GB G.SKILL Ripjaws, case with 120GB SSD and WD Blue 620GB PSU.

Verify if the issue isn't related to your internet or the server's connection, as that appears to be the most probable cause.

You're asking if a weaker internet connection would lower your game's frame rate from 50fps to 15fps.

If the frame rate drops, it's likely unrelated to your internet connection. If you're experiencing lag with stable FPS, the issue probably lies in your network.

Reduce the settings, particularly the effect options. It seems like you might achieve a stable FPS at first, but performance drops once more items appear on the screen.

I reduce everything to the lowest setting and a resolution of 1280 by 720, but it doesn’t change much. The frames per second stay around 20.
