Hey there, I’m checking in. I just wrapped up setting up another system, but it’s not turning on. The motherboard used to work with an R5 3600 now needs the R5 1600. Should I re-flash the BIOS? That might be the reason it’s not booting.

No boards are made for BIOS that works well with a 3600 but not a 1600. Chipsets meant for A-series APUs are mainly for the newer generation. Are you using a B550, A520, or X570? If yes, those chipsets don’t fit the first-gen Ryzen and only the X570 supports the second-gen.

Compatibility appears acceptable. Is this a completely new CPU? Have you experimented with various RAM setups? For instance, if the kit uses 3600MHz RAM, the initial generation CPU might face challenges meeting the JEDEC requirements.

You're pretty sure your old B350 lost support for older CPUs after upgrading to the 5800X3D... probably not too surprised, but there was definitely something going on. Just a reminder—when you ask for help, always include the specs.
