Today my PC operated normally until it began showing severe lag, with the mouse moving sluggishly. The Task Manager stopped responding altogether. After unplugging the power supply unit, I restarted it and received an error on the login screen: "Something happened and your PIN isn't available – click to set up your pin again." Setting the pin didn’t help. I attempted a shift + restart into recovery mode, but it failed. The system powers on, fans spin rapidly, yet no display appears on the monitor. Pressing jamming del/f2 to access BIOS also caused the same issue—fans roared and nothing showed. If left still, it boots to the Windows login screen again, but the PIN remains inaccessible. I removed the CMOS battery, checked voltage with a multimeter (around 3.2V), disconnected all SATA drives, and even tried the three additional HDDs in the system. My PC has had similar problems before; it sometimes showed no display while fans spun off, requiring a restart or power cycle. Initially, turning it on would cause fans to spin for about ten seconds before resuming normal operation and then showing a display. I’m unsure if these patterns are connected.

Create a Windows Recovery Drive on another Windows machine. Unplug your SSD before starting, so it loads from the USB. After booting via USB, plug the SSD back in. It seems a vital service isn't launching or is faulty concerning encryption or authentication components.

I considered making a USB Windows recovery drive but don’t have another computer available. If needed, I can obtain one later. You suggested removing the SSD before power-on so the device boots from the recovery drive, then reconnecting after it starts. I was unsure whether M.2 drives are hot-swappable at that moment.

It seems you're discussing the 870 interface standard. You might be able to reach the BIOS settings by briefly taking out the storage device.

I took out the boot m.2 SSD once more, yet del/f2 doesn’t appear to help. The screen stays black and there’s no display signal, though the PC lights up and the fans spin. Could your motherboards have failed on their own?

If your motherboard supports DrDebug or EZDebug, they might assist you. If not, refer to your motherboard's manual for instructions on resetting the BIOS—often using a jumper or button, though attempting to boot without the BIOS power supply can also succeed.

I've already attempted this. I took the CMOS battery out for some time and even disconnected the CLR_CMOS jumper, but nothing worked and I couldn't access the BIOS. Additionally, when I power on the PC, I don't see any motherboard splash screen or the Windows loading dots. Once the motherboard appears on the screen, it immediately goes to the login window.
